Ballad of Butterworth Week Sixteen
Hello everyone! Elder Anglin and I are actually in Kuala Lumpur for exchanges this week, so I am emailing you from the beautiful capitol of Malaysia.
This week has been super fantastic! First, we went and visited some Buddhist temples on Monday after emailing. They were really pretty, it was cool to see how the other side of the world does things. Then, we went to Penang on Tuesday for District Council, and afterwards we went out for lunch with Brother Tham, one of the members in Penang. It was Deepavali this week (Indian new years), so we went to the little India in Penang and got Naan bread and tandoori chicken, it was so நளேரேக் (delicious)!
On Wednesday, we had our Bible study with Brother Teh (he is the only real member that comes to Bible Study anymore, and then on Thursday we taught Jom Liu again! He talked a lot about how his education in China taught him to not believe in religion, but now he is preparing for Baptism. The bad thing is that he lives pretty far away from Butterworth and has a hard time making it to church.
On Friday, we had President Lai from the mission Presidency in town, so we went with him to visit some members of the branch. We visited one family that had an adorable little kid who kept speaking to us in Tamil. He was adorable until he took his pants off halfway during the lesson. Enough said.
On Saturday and Sunday, we spent a lot of our time visiting some members of the branch that haven't been to church in a while, which was a really good experience. We also taught Peter and his family, and tried to invite them to live the Word of Wisdom. Right before the lesson started, he brought us some cups of coffee. In other words, it was an interesting lesson! And then this morning we woke up at 4AM to catch our train to Kuala Lumpur for exchanges!
Overall, this week was amazing! There were so many cool experiences and I really had a great time. Every week I adjust more and more and I love missionary work more and more. I can't believe that it has already been 20 weeks...I guess my mission is around 1/5 over, which is crazy.
I love you all so much! I am so grateful for all of your love and support and Fasting. Please remember how much I LOOOOOVE you all and that I am praying for you all. Have a great week!
Best,
Elder Weatherford

Spiritual Experiences
This week, Elder Anglin and I were really trying to find a new person who would be willing to come to church this Sunday. We were really working hard to find them all week, and then on Saturday night, as we were coming home, there was a man in our parking lot. We talked to him, and he came to church the next day!
It was so amazing to see that God placed him perfectly in our path! We had to keep looking and he was the last person we talked to, but God helped us find him regardless.
I know that God has a plan for all of us. Sometimes, our "person" is found at the last minute possible, but we can trust that God has a plan for all of us. I love you all so much!
