The Illusion of Ipoh
Guess what time it is? It is time for another episode of what crazy things have happened in Ipoh? Well, let me tell you!
The first big shocker from this week was that there was a change to missionary communication procedures. Elder Bishop and I woke up at 6am (we have been waking up early to study Chinese) and then we saw that there was a message from our Mission President saying that we can video call every preparation day and can video call and more occasions than two a year! Woo hoo, I do love some modern revelation!
This week, we saw some miracle! First, we met a really nice man named Christopher. He ran into one of our members on the street who told him about the Resurrection, and he was really interested. And so we went and met with him, and then we met with him a second time. He is the nicest man ever, he said he feels like we were angels sent from God to bring him back to the path, since he hadn't attended church in a long time. And then, we invited him to be baptized, and he just said "Yes, I will" and Elder Bishop and I were so happy. The Spirit was so strong through the whole experience. We also met with this cool guy named Dashven whose mom is a member...his brother is on a mission and he wants to be baptized, and so we are helping him towards that goal. Wing (BYU guy) also came to church again this week, and he was telling me about his goals when he was at BYU and he said: "I want to join the church and I want to learn Spanish." I was a little taken back, it was so cool to hear him say that! I think it would be hilarious if somehow we ended up being roommates at BYU after meeting in Malaysia haha.
We also saw this man walking around town a lot who has some mental problems. He came up to us in the middle of us teaching a lesson and talked to us about a new TV show coming out. And then, on Sunday he showed up at church. It was a little scary because he kept talking really loudly during the sacrament, but Elder Bishop gave him some gum to quiet him down a bit. The poor man.
This week, we are going to Singapore on Thursday for Zone Conference, and we aren't going to get back until Monday. I am a little nervous about not being in Ipoh for church on Sunday, but I am excited for Singapore. Since we are doing Zone Conference together with the KL Zone, I will get to see some missionaries I haven't seen for a long time, like Elder Pack (my dad) and some people I came into the mission with!
I hope that you all had a fabulous week wherever you are! I love you all so much and I am so grateful for all of the love and support. I am loving every second of my time here in Malaysia, and so I am grateful for the sacrifices that you all make so I can be here.
Don't forget to smile!
Best,
Elder Weatherford
P.S. Now that we can video call, I am going to try to come up with a system that we can video call once in a while to catch up. I am so excited!

I'm not going to lie, these are the only two pictures I took this week. I'm sorry, I will be better next week.
