Week 73: Singapore Second Ward

The Sermon of Second Ward

Another week has gone by!

This was a good week! The highlight of the week for sure was Jack, who we met with again this week. He told us about how his life has been not really smooth and he was looking at a Picture of Jesus Christ and said (in his crazy Hunanese Chinese): "Does Heavenly Father really hear my Prayers? Can Jesus Christ really help me?" We invited him to get baptized (on 25 December) and he said yes! I'm hoping for a white Christmas, just like the ones I used to know. It was a very spiritual lesson.

We also continued to teach Wang who is doing well, and we taught Cui who is doing well but had to work on Sunday, Jasmine who came to church last Sunday, and Meng Jia came to church since she had this Sunday off!

It is always so hard to remember everything that happened in the week.

Oh yeah this week was Zone Conference, which was very fun. This was the Zone Conference When the Sisters who came in to the Mission with me give their "dying testimonies" which is pretty Crazy. One Missionary bore his testimony about how he asked God to give him a Trial, and then he started balling and walked off the stage. Poor guy, now he knows never to ask God for a Trial haha.

Other than that, nothing too special happened. Life is going on and I am growing lots and for better or worse life flies on.

I love you all so much! I am grateful for your support and hope that you had a great week. Many kisses from Singapore, the land of dreams and crazy weather.

Hey mom! Yes, it was a crazy crazy week for sure. Zone Conference was exciting, but it was weird to see missionaries go home. The closer I get to the date I go home, the more extreme my emotions are. I think about running over and giving you a hug and I am so excited, but when I think of leaving these adorable people and crazy countries, I think it will be hard. I can't Imagine how much I will be crying on that day.

I love the tender story about the person that Elder Weatherford taught (who cried in the temple when she saw Larry 40 years later with joy). I hope that one day we will have experiences like that, and I am sure we will. I am sure people will come up to us in the Spirit world and say "I'm sorry I said your church was a cult, I didn't mean it. I would love to get baptized!" haha.

This week has been really hard but so spiritually rewarding. I have Spent a lot of time pondering, reading my patriarchal blessing, and examining my life, and I think that is good.

My biggest emotion is gratitude. I am grateful that I got to live in Xi'an as a young man, and that I am serving a Mission in Singapore. I am grateful that I have these 2 years and then these 80 or 90 years to build my relationship with God. I am grateful that I have a wonderful family to support me and help me through all of it.
