The Sermon of Second Ward
Hello everyone! This was an interesting week for sure.
This week was Zone Conference for West Malaysia, so I got to see a ton of fun people, including my son Elder Anglin who I haven't seen for SO long. I also saw Elder Carter and Elder Tauteoli. They were staying in Singapore for about to apply for a workers' permit, so I got to go on exchanges with Elder Carter for two days. We have been companions for a long time for not being companions haha.
Other than that, this was a pretty normal week.
We got to teach Jack this week, and he is so so so cool, he has an amazing understanding of Christianity. He talked about how he had come across people from Christianity Before and how he felt he had been guided by God to find us. He is so cute, but wow his Hunanese accent is so Strong. He says all of his "h" as "F".
Meng Jia is still doing really well, but currently isn't able to come to church. We are praying so much for her to find an opportunity to come to church.
Elder Bickmore is continuing to do well and adjust to Missionary life. He lost his voice and so he sounds a bit like darth vader, so i have been doing most of the talking, but that is okay.
We had a really cool miracle this week. We were at Chinatown this week (classic!) and a lady came up to us and said "I saw you praying in McDonald's. I am Christian too! Can we be friends?" We are excited to meet with her this week and teach her more.
I hope that you all are having a good week. I love you all and I am grateful to be part of our wonderful family. Talk to you all next week!
Hey mom, I sure love you my Missionary mom! It brings a smile to hear that you understand how Missions can be hard. As a young Child, I always heard people say that Missions are hard, but I think its impossible to understand without serving one yourself. Welcome to the greatest group in the world! I can promise you that Missions don't necessarily get easier, but they get way more rewarding. There will be days When you have Spiritual experiences that Pull you across the veil and you hold sacred for the rest of your life. And there will he count less days When you don't understand what people are saying and everything goes wrong. It's all part of the package.
