Week 38: Ipoh, Malaysia

The Illusion of Ipoh

Hello everyone! It was another swell week here in Ipoh. The weather has been so hot lately...this is the time of the year where rain very less and sun so hot every day! But I am grateful for the opportunity to be biking in Ipoh.

On Wednesday we took a train down to Kuala Lumpur for our mission conference with Elder Meurs from the Asia Area Presidency. He talked to us about teaching to meet people's needs, how to simplify teaching, and just how to have more charity. It was a great meeting, plus I got to see some of my old missionary friends!

For the rest of the week, things were pretty normal. David is doing well...he changed his profile picture on Whatsapp to a picture of all of us together, and so some of his friends said that we were bad people and he shouldn't come to church with us, which was kinda sad. But, he reacted really well and is still doing great. Christopher is doing well but hasn't been able to attend church in a while, and so we pushed back his baptism a couple weeks. Everyone else is doing really well! Herbert was also able to come to church this week! Woo hoo!

Elder Bishop and I are continuing to get along really well and we are seeing a lot of success and happiness in Ipoh. I truly am grateful to be here at this time!

Today, we are going to get 点心 with Eddie, that cool guy from last week, which will be very cool! It should also be delicious!

I hope you all had a great week! I really am loving every day of my mission, everyday is such an adventure and an opportunity. I hope you all are doing well and can feel my love. I love you all so much!

Spiritual Experiences

This week we saw a lot of cool experiences!

As you know, we meet Eddie a little bit ago. But, since the last time we met him, we haven't been able to meet with him. But this week, we ran into him at a place that we don't generally go, which was so cool! It was absolutely God directing us to bump into him. We were both in the right time at the right moment.

I know that it can be hard to see all the time, but the Lord does have a reason for us to be at the places where we are. Most of the time, we have no idea why he wants us to be there. But, once in a while he gives us a glimpse into the way He can see, and we can see our purpose.

I promise that wherever we are, the Lord has a purpose for us being there. When we feel down and are not sure why, we can trust that there is always a reason.

I love you all so much!

Pictures:

1. Us with Justin, a cool new guy who came to church. While I was in the bathroom, he came up and asked Elder Bishop what he was doing in Malaysia, and so we invited him!
2. Stingray head with lots of spicy. Very good!
3. Us with Elder Meurs!

1. I attached a picture we took right into the sun, so it looks like I have a devil face. Hopefully it "brightens" your day!
