Week 56: Singapore Second Ward

The Sermon of Singapore

Wow, this was such a good week! So many amazing things happened!

First things first, Zhao got baptized this week! It was such an amazing service! I gave a talk on baptism (all in Chinese, pretty exciting) and then Brother Nef (a man from America who speaks perfect Chinese) baptized him, and then he shared his testimony. He said that when he first got to Singapore he felt really alone, and one day we said hello to him on the MRT and when he saw our nametags he felt really Inspired, and so he came to church, and found a Family here in Singapore. It was so sweet, it made me cry.

Another miracle from the week was from Jimmy. Jimmy was a bit concerned about his upcoming baptism because he thought the Chinese government may look down on the fact that he was a Christian. He had kinda been ignoring us all week, but finally we met with him. We invited him to go Home and pray, and then the next day he texted us and said he heard a voice telling him everything would be okay, and that he just needs to continue forward. So, we did his Baptismal interview and he is getting baptized this upcoming Sunday! Wow, so cool right?

We also went to visit one of our members Michelle Wang, whose daughter we are teaching. She was in the hospital for an Eye exam, and we went to give her a blessing. I said the blessing in Chinese, and I thought I didn't do a super good job, but Michelle Wang was really touched by it. I was grateful to have a part in the miracle!

The other people we are teaching are doing well also. Yuan Yuan is back from China and is going to get baptized together with Anna and Junyi on August 3rd. Yu Ze is continuing to come to church and is getting closer and closer to his baptism. It is a great time to be a missionary!

I really hope that I stay here in Singapore for the next transfer, but We will find out next week. Honestly, this is the happiest I've been on the Mission and almost in my whole life. Things are just going so well and I am having lots of Joy.

This Week has really strengthened my testimony that there is so much good in life. We have bad, but there is always good right around the corner. It is just up to us to be patient and wait for it.

I love you all so much! Hope that you are all doing well and can feel my love for you all the way across the world. I love you all so so much!

Don't forget to smile!

Best,
Elder Weatherford
