Week 57: Singapore Second Ward

The Sermon of Singapore

Wow, it has been a crazy week.

First things first, I had a minor operation on a very ingrown toenail of Mine. I won't go into too much detail, but long story short a bit of my toenail is gone now and I have to wear crocs while it heals.

There was also another missionary who had stomach surgery this week, so he needed to stay inside for most of the week. Elder Pack, this elder's Companion and I took turns staying at home with him while the other two went out.

But on the bright side of the week, Jimmy got baptized! He was really happy that whole day, and it was fun to see one of our Recent converts baptize him. It was such a special day!

Also on Sunday morning, we had our Baptismal interviews for Yuan Yuan, Anna, and Junyi and they all passed! We are excited for the baptism this Saturday. Unfortunately, after their baptism our teaching pool will be reduced significantly, so we have some work to do.

We also found out about transfers this week! I am....officially staying in the 2nd Ward, Woo hoo! But, they are splitting me and Elder Pack up. Originally we thought we were both training, but I think it is actually 2 missionaries coming from Taiwan. A few of our missionaries are switching to Hong Kong, Hong Kong is spending some missionaries to Taiwan, and then Taiwan is sending missionaries to us. My New Companion is Elder Strong! I look forward to getting to know them. I am Still District Leader, this time over 6 companionships. That's gonna be a lot of work, but it should be fun.

Despite having some surgery, it was a great week! I learned lots and had a great time! Thanks for all of your support and love, I can feel it here in Singapore. I love you all so much and hope you can feel my love.

Talk to you all next week! Don't forget to smile.

Best,
Elder Weatherford

10. Us with President Woo and Yu Ze.

Hey mom!Yes, my toe is healing very well, it doesn't even hurt anymore! It was a pretty painful operation (they cut out about a third of my nail with scissors) but Now it is great! When I started wearing a croc, I totally thought of dad and his boot in Taiwan! Haha, what a great memory.

Yeah, Paul is a great example! I love Peter and John's examples as well...they got stoned, thrown nail, all sorts of stuff but they counted themselves lucky to suffer shame for Jesus Christ's name. Sometimes, bad things happen, there is nothing we can do about that. The best is to Move forward and hold the right Perspective.

Elder Pack would love to see you at his home coming talk, I think it would be a great idea! He is a great man, I would love for you to meet him.

I can't believe that I have been here for over 13 months now, the last Month went by so crazy fast I can't even believe it. I think it is just going to get faster and faster.

I am really really grateful to be here in the 2nd Ward, it is my dream Area. I am also excited to get to have a Companion from Taiwan, I am sure he can help my Chinese a lot. At times I am scared that I won't be good enough, but I try to silence those voices in my head and push forward knowing that everything will be okay.

How ever, as grateful as I am for being in the 2nd Ward, it is nothing compared to how grateful I am that you are my mother. I got your Note recently and it brought me to tears. I am so glad that you feel reconciled to God, it is not easy but it is a wonderful feeling. I am grateful that you are there to Talk to me on days when I am sad and flying to Kuching. I am glad you are there to Talk to me on days when I am LOVING the 2nd Ward. I love you so much mom forever and always. I look forward to skyping next week!
