The Sermon of Second Ward
This week was super crazy, but wow it was really really great!
On Wednesday, we went to the airport and went to go pick up the new missionaries. It was especially fun because I remember When I came into the field I met a missionary who said he had been out around 14 months and I thought "That is SOO long, how does anyone make it that far?" But now, I guess I am that Old fart, which is cool to think about. I took a new Missionary on the MRT to contact people, and as I was Contacting someone in Chinese, he was just Rocking back and forth, he looked so nervous. Poor guy, he'll get there! Then on Wednesday, our New companions flew in from Taiwan. My Companion is Elder Strong, who is really cool. He is chill and down to Earth and hilarious. He has been serving in Taichung for about 10 months.
Then on Friday, we got some bad news. Zhao's one year contract got cancelled, and he has to fly home to China this Wednesday. We met with him and we were expecting him to be really...what's the world...depressed (绝望). But instead, he just kept saying it is God's Plan for him. It was SOOO cool for me to see that God brought him to Singapore for just enough time to get baptized, and now he is flying him back. Miracles!
And then on Saturday, we had 3 Baptisms! Yuan Yuan, Anna, and Junyi all got baptized and it was so funny. For Junyi's testimony, he just kept saying "thank you" and bowing. And then, as we sang a special musical number, Yuan Yuan talked about how much it touched her. It was very sweet.
On Sunday, a nice lady who is from China came to church. When we met with her, we told her that Prayer is like talking to your Father on the phone, and she just started BAWLING, it was so sweet. The Spirit was really strong.
Overall, it was a really great week. Things have been busy and stressful leading an Area and helping the Taiwan missionaries adjust, but I am enjoying it a lot. It is a great opportunity to be here.
I love you all so much! Hope that you can feel my deep love for all of you and my gratitude for being able to serve a Mission. It really is the best :)
