The Sermon of Second Ward
Wow, this was an amazing week, I say this a lot but this was probably my favorite week of the whole mission!
On Monday, the Nie Family called us and said that their daughter was really sick, so we went over and gave their daughter a blessing. On Wednesday she still was feeling really sick, so they went to the hospital and found out she had pneumonia and needed to stay in the hospital for a few days. The mom stayed in the hospital with the younger twin, while the dad stayed at Home with the older twin. They asked us to help Bring some clothing from their house to the hospital, and we were happy to help. It was a great opportunity, Plus their daughters are so cute!
On Wednesday we had our Zone Conference, which was fun. Elder Boris and I gave a training, and we ate some delicious food made by the senior couples.
On Saturday, my friend Herbert got baptized, Plus Sister Chris was a Witness for the baptism which was exciting! I got to call and talk to him on the phone and hear his testimony, and it made me cry so much. He shared about how When he saw us in the Restaurant he felt like he wanted to Talk to us, but he didn't, but then we went over and talked to him and how he felt God's love so strongly. What a man!
Sunday was my birthday (20 years old!) and Wow was it the best day ever. First things first, a cool woman named Jessica came to church. We met her in Chinatown and she let us eat some of her fruit, and then We found out she was Christian. We had a great conversation, swapped phone numbers, and then left. And When then she came to church and brought her husband. She said after she gave us her number she felt not at peace and thought "Why did I give these random people my phone number?" But then she prayed about if she should come to our church or not, and then she felt like she should. Wow, so cool right? Plus, she loved our church. She said that it was so personal and she met some of our awesome members. That was a big miracle that she had such a great experience. We are meeting her and her husband Francis this week.
Then since Elder Strong was leaving for Taiwan, we went to go visit Judy one last time. We talked about why she felt God let us meet, and then We invited her to saw a prayer outloud, her first time ever. When she said it, we were all crying so much, it was very spiritual. And right after her Prayer, the cloudy atmosphere left and the sunlight shone through to where we were sitting. She still isn't ready to get baptized quite yet, but Elder Strong and I felt so much closure and felt that she will be ready soon.
That was the week. It was so spiritual, almost to the point of exhaustion. It was so amazing, I felt the Spirit so strongly throughout the week, and felt God's hand in my life.
Now I am training Elder Bickmore for a couple Weeks while Elder Strong and Elder Crowther are in Taiwan.
I love you all! Hope that you had a great week!
Best,
Elder Weatherford
